We need your support
West Cumbria Search and Rescue is a charity, and members spend time raising funds alongside training and callouts. All of our members are volunteers, and when they are not being called out or training they participate in various fundraising activities such as bag packing, talks to adults and children and providing medical cover for events.
As we receive no government funding we have to rely on public donations, grant applications and sponsorship to ensure kit and training can be provided and maintained, such as:
✓ Keeping our vehicles on the road
✓ Essential training for all our volunteers
✓ Insurances
✓ Essential life saving kit
And much much more to enable us to continue to search for missing people in all weathers at any time of the day or night.
You can do anything to fundraise for us as long as its legal.
There are some examples of ways you can fundraise for us:
- Sponsored activities e.g. Walk, Run, Cycle, Climb a Mountain
- Run an event e.g. Coffee Morning, Fete, Summer Party
- Make one of your regular activities in aid of us e.g. Bowls, Quiz Night
